Discorso
Signore e signori, cari amici,
un anno fa è cresciuta in me l’idea
di fondare un museo a Torniella in cui altri tesori del
Val di Farma sarebbero stati presentati: oltre ad alcuni
siti archeologici, alla variegata fauna e flora,
all’industria del legno, all’agricoltura e al
turismo è la diversità geologica che mi affascina da
quasi trentaquattro anni.
Sedimenti colorati del deserto si trovano sopra
antichissime, sedimentazioni marine grigie e nere. Tutto
cio che è affondato fino a venticinque chilometri di
profondità, è stato piegato, accumulato, poi rotto e
rilevato.
Ci è voluto tanto tempo per eseguire una carta geologica
di questo areale complicato e coperto da una fitta
vegetazione. Ed è questa carta che vi faccio vedere
stasera.
Mia moglie Helga mi ha aiutato molto con la sua
tolleranza, pazienza e anche con il suo interesse a
riuscire a finire tutto questo, non ce l’avrei fatta
da solo.
Trovo affascinanti i colori e le forme delle pietre, la
loro posizione e la loro importanza.
Vicino a "Canaloni" ci si trova sulla spiaggia
del mare sopracitato e a cinque chilometri a valle vicino
a "Contrada Carpineta" sotto Iesa alla
transizione nel bacino marino di quel tempo.
Mi piacerebbe informare tutti quanti sui progressi del
mio lavoro in Val di Farma e vorrei richiamare
l’attenzione sugli aspetti estetici dei colori e
delle forme molteplici di quella roccia di cui si vedrà
una piccola collezione in vetrina.
Secondo me la Val di Farma con la sua geologia è un
punto importante per il "Geoparco Colline
Metallifere".
Il sasso è la base di ogni vita e garantisce la
ricchezza a tutti coloro che ne ottengono le loro materie
prime.
Un anno fa Eris Bartalucci-Morozzi mi ha messo in
contatto con Pro Loco Torniella.
La mia gioia è stata immensa quando fui informato via
mail da Mario Straccali che la mia idea era stata
accettata e sarebbe stata realizzata insieme con la
rappresentazione delle località archeologiche.
Grazie a Paolo Sammuri che mi ha aiutato molto con i
lavori di scrittura e le traduzioni in lingua italiana.
Vorrei mostrare la mia riconoscenza a tutti colore che mi
hanno aiutato in tanti anni e mi hanno sopportato
moralmente: a non desistere nè scoraggiarsi.
Grazie alla Signora Schanzer per il suo aiuto per la

Inauguration of the Museum in Torniella

Dear Ladies and dear Gentlemen, hi
friends,
one year ago I had the idea to institute
a museum in Torniella, in which a new resource of the
Farma Valley can be presented and appreciated: beside
some archaeological sites, the manyfold fauna and flora,
wood-business and farming as well as tourismus, it is the
geodiversity of that area, which captivates me ever more
since 34 years. Multicoloured desert-deposits cover very
ancient grey and black marine sediments. All that was
pushed down 25 kilometers beneath surface, was folded,
thrusted, torn apart and got subsequently exhumed. It
took a long time, till I had prepared a geological map of
that lithified puzzle, which is covered by thick
mediterranean forest; You can see the exposed map here.
My wife Helga contributed substantially by means of her
patience and tolerance - but also by her interest - that
all this work could be done; very probably I would have
failed without her help.
I am fascinated by the colours and structures of these
rocks, by their spatial organization and their
significance. Geosite "Canaloni" e. g.
indicates the vicinity of the shore of the afore
mentioned very ancient sea and geosite "Contrada
Carpineta" - five kilometers downriver below the
village of Iesa - represents the passage to the deep sea
at that time.
I like to inform all persons here about the progress of
my geological work in the Farma Valley and I want to draw
attention to the aesthetic aspects of the diverse colours
and textures of these rocks by means of a small
collection of samples displayed in the glass case. I
think that the geology of Farma Valley as well as its
historic mining sites are important elements of the
"Geopark Colline Metallifere". Rock is the
basics of all life and of the well-being of many; mineral
raw materials indispensible for life are obtained from
rock.
One year ago, Mrs. Eris Bartalucci-Morozzi established
the contact between Pro Loco Torniella and me. There was
much gladness, as I was informed in Munich via email by
Mario Straccali that my idea was readily accepted and
should be realized together with the presentation of
archaeological sites of the Farma Valley. Many thanks to
Mr. Paolo Sammuri, who helped me substantially in the
following to amend my deskwork and translations into
Italian language. Many thanks also to all here, who
helped me morally in all these many years: neither to
deteriorate nor to give up.
Thanks to Mrs. Schanzer, who helped me to translate my
oral presentation into Italian language.

Eröffnung des Museums in Torniella

Meine Damen und Herren, liebe Freunde,
Ich hatte vor einem Jahr die Idee, ein Museum in
Torniella zu gründen, in dem eine weitere Ressource des
Farmatales präsentiert und wertgeschätzt werden kann:
neben einigen archäologischen Stätten, der
mannigfaltigen Fauna und Flora, Holz- und Landwirtschaft
sowie Tourismus ist es die Geodiversität, die mich - mit
Unterbrechungen - seit bald 34 Jahren immer mehr in den
Bann zieht. Bunte Wüstenablagerungen liegen dort über
uralten, grauen und schwarzen Meeresablagerungen. All das
ist bei der Gebirgsbildung bis in 25 km Tiefe versenkt,
gefaltet, gestapelt, zerrissen und anschließend wieder
herausgehoben worden. Es dauerte lange, bis ich von
diesem steinernen Puzzle, das eine dichte Macchia
überdeckt, eine geologische Karte erstellt hatte, die
Sie hier sehen können. Meine Frau Helga hat mit ihrer
Geduld und Toleranz, aber auch ihrem Interesse wesentlich
dazu beigetragen, dass all das fertig werden konnte;
alleine hätte ich es wohl nicht geschafft.
Mich faszinieren Farben und Formen der Gesteine, ihre
Anordnung im Raum und ihre Bedeutung: Bei "Canaloni"
z. B. befindet man sich in Strandnähe des genannten
uralten Meeres und 5 km weiter flußab bei "Contrada
Carpineta" unterhalb der Ortschaft Iesa am Übergang
in das damalige tiefe Meeresbecken.
Gerne informiere ich alle hier über den Fortschritt
meiner Arbeiten im Farmatal und möchte auch mit der
kleinen Steinsammlung in der Vitrine auf die
ästhetischen Aspekte der vielfältigen Farben und Formen
dieser Gesteine aufmerksam machen. Ich denke, das
Farmatal ist mit seiner Geologie und einigen
Altbergbauarealen ein wichtiger Punkt für den "Geopark
Colline Metallifere". Stein ist die Basis für alles
Leben und für den Wohlstand vieler; aus ihm beziehen wir
die für das Leben unentbehrlichen mineralischen
Rohstoffe.
Es war Eris Bartalucci-Morozzi, die vor einem Jahr den
Kontakt zwischen mir und Pro Loco Torniella herstellte.
Die Freude war groß, als ich in München per email von
Mario Straccali informiert wurde, dass meine Idee gerne
angenommen worden ist und zusammen mit der Darstellung
archäologischer Lokalitäten des Farmatales realisiert
werden soll. Bei den nachfolgenden Schreibarbeiten und
Übersetzungen in die Italienische Sprache hat mir in
sehr dankenswerter Weise Herr Paolo Sammuri geholfen.
Besten Dank auch an alle hier, die mir in den vielen
Jahren halfen und mir eine moralische Stütze waren:
nicht nachzulassen oder aufzugeben. Dank auch an Frau
Schanzer für ihre Hilfe bei der Übersetzung meines
Vortrages ins Italienische.

Ergänzung: die Buntheit der Steine und die fantastischen
geologischen Strukturen dieser verborgenen Welt klingen
